Baku Education Information Centre (BEIC) is an independent Education Information Center created and supported by Open Society Institute in Azerbaijan and U.S. Department of State committed to providing information about international education opportunities and promoting Soros Scholarships and programs in Azerbaijan.

BEIC MAIN ACTIVITIES:

1. Providing the visitors with all information on education, scholarships, training, courses, conferences available from Internet,
   E-mail, different institutions;
2. Advising individuals as well as groups on any matter related to education abroad;
3. Helping the students to contact and communicate with institutions abroad;
4. Promoting Soros scholarships and programs in Azerbaijan;
5. Administration of Secondary School Programs;
6. Assisting in promoting American Government, Foreign Embassies, Oil companies and range of American institutions and International organizations scholarships;
7. Providing bulletins and information about dates and places of TOEFL, GRE, GMAT and SAT exams;
8. Conducting Institutional TOEFL exams;
9. Organizing lectures with guest speakers from abroad on different issues concerning education and culture in other countries;
10. Delivering lectures and workshops on various educational topics (two times a week):
    • The lecture for new-comers
    • Scholarship opportunities in Azerbaijan
    • Filling out application forms, writing reference letters and transcripts
    • How to write Statement of Purpose (Essay)
    • Job Search Tips
    • Academic and Career CVs
    • Tips of Educational Interview

    • Separate presentation for every Soros scholarship and program
11. Organizing career lectures and
    workshops;
12. Administering high school students conversation groups;
13. Organizing Educational Fairs;
14. Providing free of charge Internet Access for the visitors of BEIC; managing Internet Centre with 11 terminals;
15. Presentation movies in English;
16. Serving as the Information Centre for Open Society Institute - Assistance Foundation;
17. Selling books in collaboration with Thomson Learning;
18. BEIC's library possesses wide information about education in USA and Europe as well preparation materials for TOEFL, GRE, GMAT and SAT exams, with video and CDs available, and the small library on Human Rights, Medicine (Environmental Epidemiology), Environment, Art and Culture, and books donated by Azerbaijani-American Society of New England.
