Mr. Vasif Talibov, Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic, got closely familiarized with the preparation process.

Mr. Vasif Talibov, Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic, got closely familiarized with the preparation process of CISCO Networking Academy to be created in the Nakhichevan State University. This took place during the opening of Architecture and Engineering Faculty in the State Nakhichevan University. Mr. Murad Maksudov, AzNET Project Manager, provided the detailed information to Mr. Vasif Talibov, Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic, about activities of the CISCO Local Academy. Mr. Vasif Talibov was informed about trainings to be held in the mentioned center, as well as about perspectives of the trained specialists in different fields of economy. After Mr. Vasif Talibov has become acquainted with the Local Academy staff, he has emphasized a great responsibility they have.

Opening ceremony of CISCO Local Networking Academy in the Nakhichevan State University will be held during "e-Nakhichevan" conference to be held in Nakhichevan in June. The networking equipment for this Local Academy has been granted by CISCO Systems. Administrative support and trainers' preparation realized by the NATO Science Program. Organizational activities for the creation of Local Academy were provided by the "Internet Access and Infrastructure Development for research, educational and civil society development purposes" (AzNET) joint project of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan, UNDP and AzRENA.

It should be noted that about 1,5 mln students have studied in more that 11 000 CISCO Networking Academies spread over more that 150 world countries. Within the framework of AzNET project 12 CISCO Local Networking Academies have been already created in Azerbaijan.
