DR. HADASSA JACOBOVITS, NATO PROGRAMME DIRECTOR FOR INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION SECURITY, HELD A MEETING WITH AZNET PROJECT STAFF DURING HER VISIT TO AZERBAIJAN

Dr. Hadassa Jacobovits, Programme Director for Information and Communication Security, NATO Headquarter, held a meeting at the office of "Internet Access and Infrastructure Development for research, educational and civil society development purposes" (AzNET) project. During the meeting, Dr. Yakobovits has been informed about educational and scientific research network of AzNET project, as well as held an exchange of views regarding the development perspectives of this network.

During the meeting, AzNET project staff has informed the guest about the initiatives held within the framework of AzNET project. Among these initiatives, information about Network Infrastructure Grants, CISCO Networking Academy Programme, E-riders initiative was presented. At the same time, CERT (Computer Emergency Response Team) initiative lately developed by AzNET in Azerbaijan was also focus of attention. It should be mentioned that project staff, after participating at the trainings held in the framework of mentioned CERT initiative in several European Countries, provide CERT services on the AzNET basis to the organizations connected to project network backbone. Presently, AzNET project is implementing necessary activities in the field of widening and updating CERT initiative.

After meeting with network security staff of AzNET project, Dr. Jacobovits has highly appreciated the level of their professionality. Dr. Jacobovits has noted that information security is very important issue for today, and the great significance paid by AzNET Project to this point is highly appreciated.

By the end of the meeting, parties held an exchange of views regarding the future cooperation perspectives and opportunities.
