Web design curriculum
Web design curriculum has been developed by AzNET team
to face the scarcity of qualified web-publishing specialists. The course
is designed specially for those who want to become familiar with Internet
publishing technologies. Curriculum consists of about 140 hours of training
and lab works and covers broad set of technological issues, like HTML,
CSS and JavaScript coding; graphic formats and software, like Adobe Photoshop,
Macromedia Fireworks; web publishing and animation software, like Macromedia
Dreamweaver and Flash; Azerbaijani language and Unicode issues.
As a prerequisite, possible students are required to
pass a computer-based test, which consists of 40 questions and covers
basic Internet concepts and terminology.
Below is the list of modules with brief descriptions
on topics covered.
- Internet and E-Mail Basics – effective
use of Internet resources; search engines and e-mail basics and
software overview;
- Web publishing concepts – an overview
of web-publishing technology; web-resource planning and design;
- Interactivity and the Web – HTML; how
to make your web-site interactive with use of CSS, JavaScript,
CGI scripts and FORM elements; overview of web-programming languages
like PHP, ASP, Perl, JSP and others;
- Database development – an introduction
to database development with SQL; web-interface creation with
use of MySQL, MS SQL, PHP and other technologies;
- Web-graphics for the Web - manipulating graphics
with Adobe Photoshop;
- Web-animation for the Web- animation for the
web with Macromedia Flash;
- Web-resource structure and design – Macromedia
Dreamweaver;
- Multimedia content for the Web – an overview
of multimedia formats used on the web and appropriate software;
- Fonts and Unicode issues – overview of
standards of fonts usage on the Web and Azerbaijani language related
issues;
- Online tools for Web-publishers – an
overview of useful tools available over the Internet;
