ICT Training

Delivery of IT training is regarded as a basis, which promotes the raise of professional skills of people involved in IT projects in the country, what in it's turn contributes to the development of IT sector of Azerbaijan in general. The scope of use of IT-solutions broadens almost every day. This and also constant appearance of new technologies puts new challenges for IT-training providers. New scopes of application of IT means new target groups for IT-training, which in its turn means new and more specialized curriculum development. AzNET Project participates and supports several initiatives aimed to strengthen IT-skills for people of different professions. The responsibility of the training team is to timely and adequately respond to the changes in IT industry and support all initiatives, which may have training component considered.

During almost 6 years of operation, since April 1998, Internet Training Center of OSI-AF Azerbaijan (currently UNDP\AzNET Project's ICT Training Center) had delivered training courses to more than 6,500 students out of total number of 8,000. We have a broad range of topics covered in our curriculum: from Internet and E-Mail basics to advanced trainings on web-publishing technologies. The whole curriculum consists of almost 180 hours of training and practice as follows.

Internet Essentials
Gives students an overall understanding of Internet structure, services available (WWW, E-Mail, FTP), technology (HTTP, FTP, DNS, POP3, IMAP) and practical skills in using appropriate software, like Internet Explorer, Netscape Communicator, Microsoft Outlook Express and Microsoft Exchange.

Web-Design
Curriculum covers broad range of topics and gives students fundamental knowledge on Web Content Development both from technological and conceptual point of view.
Modules: HTML Basics; CSS Basics; JavaScript Basics; CGI Technology and FORM elements; Introduction to Web-graphics; Adobe Photoshop; Macromedia Dreamweaver; Macromedia Fireworks; Macromedia Flash; and more ...

Cisco Networking Academy Program logoAzNET Project also actively participates in the Cisco Networking Academy Program, which is a comprehensive e-learning program that provides students with the Internet technology skills essential in a global economy. The Networking Academy delivers web-based content, online assessment, student performance tracking, hands-on labs, instructor training and support, and preparation for industry standard certifications.
